Two Petersburg trade unions are in the International Federation, which the Prosecutor General’s Office recognized as unwanted

On September 5, the Prosecutor General’s Office recognized the International Federation of Transport Workers (MFT) as an undesirable organization. This is the Federation of Trade Unions, uniting hundreds of organizations and millions of workers around the world.

In Russia, MFT members are :

• Professional Union of Air Workers of Radio Grounding, Radio -Navigation and Communications of Russia;
• All -Russian Communications Trade Union;

• Russian trade union of dockers (with headquarters in St. Petersburg);

• Federal Trade Union of Aviation Dispatchers of Russia;

• The All -Russian Trade Union of Road Transport and Road Management;

• North-Western trade union organization of the Plavsostava (with headquarters in St. Petersburg);

• Russian trade union of sailors;

• Russian Trade Union of Railway Workers and Transport Builders.

In addition, official inspectors of MFT worked in Russia.

Whether the recognition of MFT will be reflected by an unwanted organization at the work of its Russian members is not yet clear. In the Russian trade union, “ paper ” commented on this: “We believed that trade unions are outside politics.”

About 77 thousand people are included in the union of sailors. Its head of Yuri Sukhorukov is a member of the Marine Council under the Government of Russia.

The head of the Russian Docerian Union Maxim Kolyadintsev stated in a conversation with “ paper ” that the trade union “since 2015 has actually no interaction [from the MFT], for the last two years we have not transferred membership dues, we have not participated in any events. <...> I will say more, RPD, in turn, provides assistance to the union members who defend the interests of the Russian Federation in a special military operation, we fully support the state policy. ”

The president of the Federal Trade Union of aviation dispatchers Sergey Kovalev spoke out in a similar way in a conversation with RBC: “We have not paid membership fees for two years in ITF. It is possible that we were already excluded for non -payment. For two years we have no contacts with them. ”

For which the MFT was recognized as undesirable. Among the reasons, the Prosecutor General’s Office called the sharp anti -Russian statements of the leaders of the organization - citizens of Great Britain and Australia. The department said that on the initiative of the section of the dockers, which is part of the Federation, controlled trade unions in foreign ports tore off the unloading of Russian courts entering them.

Another claim of the prosecutor’s office is to promote the ban on entering the ports of the courts registered in Russia or walking under the Russian flag.

Among other reasons for making MFT to the list of unwanted Prosecutor General’s Office allocated the organization of more than 500 thousand dollars to support Ukraine. All this, according to the department, poses a threat to the constitutional system of the Russian Federation.

According to Russian law, cooperation with organizations included in the list of undesirable is a criminal offense. For this it can threaten up to 6 years in prison.
