RBC: The European Commission has confirmed that citizens of the Russian Federation are prohibited from importing cars registered in Russia into the EU

As the European Commission has confirmed, according to the sanctions legislation regarding Russia, entry into the EU countries with cars registered in the Russian Federation will be regarded as prohibited import, reports . RBC

New clarifications from the European Commission, quoted by journalists, say that the ban includes any cars, including those used for private or commercial purposes.

Also, as RBC writes, the import of cosmetics, suitcases, laptops and mobile phones can be regarded as prohibited imports, since they appear in the annex to the embargo regulations against Russia. In addition to these items, the document indicates leather and fur products, semi-precious and precious stones, toilet paper, shampoos, toothpastes, trailers and semi-trailers for transporting goods, yachts, cameras.

Previously, German customs promised to arrest incoming cars from Russia. The department reported that as part of the sanctions, the import of passenger cars from Russia to the European Union is prohibited, and the concept of “import” in German includes any movement of goods, including travel by car.
