Putin resumed paying pensions to military pensioners serving in the army

Vladimir Putin signed a decree according to which those mobilized and signed a contract to participate in hostilities in Ukraine will receive monthly compensation in the amount of their military pension.

“Establish <...> a monthly compensation payment in the amount of 100% of the long-service pension paid on the day of suspension of its payment, taking into account the monthly additional payment to the specified pension <...> and an increase in the size of the pension after the suspension of its payment,” it says decree, which came into force upon its signing.

In accordance with Part 2 of Article 6 of the Law “On pension provision for persons who served in military service”, payment of a military pension is suspended if the pensioner enlists in the army, police or other law enforcement agencies.

Thus, military retirees who are currently serving in the army, in addition to basic payments, will also receive 100% compensation for their military pensions.
