When did the archaic-power scenario of Russian life arise? Among those who analyze the current state of the Russian world, you can very often hear: “imperial ambitions” or “imperial disease”. Or, when they talk about the mass sympathy of Russians by the actions of their authorities, they associate this with the awakened sense of "longing for the Great Empire." However, sorting out in historical memory some of the basic properties that are associated with the category of “Imperial”, the following thought comes to mind: never over the past three hundred years the Russian world has been so far from the “empire”, as in today's time.
