The European Union did not extend the sanctions imposed against four Russian citizens. Their names were not specified in the press release. This was reported on the official website of the association.

Existing restrictions continue to apply to almost 1,800 individuals and legal entities, the press release noted. The sanctions against them have been extended for another six months, until March 15, 2024.

Earlier, Reuters wrote that the owner of the RBC holding Grigory Berezkin, the former shareholder of Northgas billionaire Farkhad Akhmedov and the ex-head of Ozon Alexander Shulgin will be removed from the EU sanctions list. The fourth Russian, according to their data, was Russian Army Colonel Georgy Shuvaev, who died in Ukraine.

On September 6, the European Court of General Jurisdiction ruled to release the former CEO of the online retailer Ozon, Alexander Shulgin, from restrictions.

Sanctions specialist Yuri Shumilov told RBC that in the case of Shulgin, the main issue for the court was “precisely his managerial role as CEO of Ozon.”

Earlier, the UK lifted sanctions against Oleg Tinkov. The Financial Times also wrote that the founder of Yandex, Arkady Volozh, appealed to the European Union with a request to lift sanctions against him.
