In November 2022, a disfigured body was found in the British village of Shevington near Manchester. Police detectives Gina Brennand and Lee Show, who came to the call, were least expected to face such a crime in a quiet village.

The first clues appeared only after a month and a half. Detectives studied records from the surveillance camera installed on one of the neighboring houses. The murder itself did not get into the frame, but the camera recorded a loud cotton similar to a shot, about 15 minutes before the passerby found the body.

The recording from the DVR of one of the cars parked nearby showed that at the time of the murder, the Shogun car was near the crime scene. A few weeks before, this car had already appeared several times in the area, but with other license plates.

The police were able to find the manufacturer of fake license plates. The detectives did not disclose his name. However, through him he managed to go to the driver of Shogun-38-year-old Michael Hilliere, who also hit the cells on the day of the murder. He turned to the manufacturer of the room through an intermediary. According to detectives, Hilliere began to follow Smith three weeks before the murder.

The police tracked and detained Hilliere, but he never answered a single question. Only the name of his girlfriend - Rachel Foulastow managed to find out. A car was registered on it, on which Hillier watched the dead.

When Brennand and the show came to her house, they asked the girl not only about Hillir, but also about the victim of the murder - Liam Smith. It turned out that three years ago, in 2019, Fulstow met him in the Tinder dating application, and then they spent the night at the hotel and since then had not seen each other.

At first, Rachel Fulstow appeared as a witness in the case, but the police were confused by search queries in her browser two days before the murder: "How long does the car burn?" At the first court session, Hillier admitted that he planned an attack with Foulastow for 10 months.
