Ex-Prime Minister of the Higher School of Economics Valery Kasamara quit from the university

Valeria Kasamara left the Higher School of Economics (HSE), where at different times she worked as a vice -rector and director of the Institute of Applied Political Research. This was reported to the "agency" by Kasamar herself.

Details . Student telegram channel Inside HSE, citing sources on Monday, announced the dismissal of Casamara. The ex-Procector confirmed this information to the “agency”, refusing to comment on the reasons. When asked by the journalist whether she will remain in Russia, Kasamar answered in the affirmative.

• Kasamara worked in the Higher School of Economics for almost 20 years. Initially, she came to the position of the first deputy deputy Faculty of Political Science in 2004, but in 2018 she received a promotion to the vice-rector of the university for work with students and graduates. In 2021, she left the post of vice -rector, focusing at work as the director of the Institute of Applied Political Studies. In June 2023, the institute was disbanded .

Context . During her work, Valery Kasamar fell into several political scandals. With its support, the DOXA student publication ceased to be a student organization of HSE.

• In 2019, she moved from the Sobyanin team in the election of deputies of the Moscow City Duma in the district No. 45, which caused protests among students and teachers. In her district, Ilya Yashin was not allowed, the election was eventually won by the fair -Russian Magomet Yandiev.
• Kasamara supported the former Student of the Higher School of Economics, who was sentenced to a conditional time for participation in protests due to the lack of independent candidates for elections to the Moscow City Duma in 2019. After the sentence, she invited Zhukov to return to the university.
• Political pressure on HSE employees lasts several years. In 2020, the university leadership forbade employees to make political statements, then a group of teachers complained about dismissal for political reasons. In 2021, Yaroslav Kuzminov, who worked for the rector of 28 years, also left his post. He was replaced by deputy director of Moscow State University Nikita Anisimov.
