Foreign Affairs – about the USA and terrorists

Council on Foreign Relations analysts Jacob Ware and Bruce Hoffman write in Foreign Affairs that the United States, rather than defeating terrorism, has itself become a breeding ground for far-right terrorism :

“ Over many decades of fighting terrorism, the United States has consistently criticized countries like Iran, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia for exporting extremist ideologies and violence. Ironically, today exactly the same accusations are being made against the United States. The spread of American conspiracy theories , racist ideas , anti-government extremism and other manifestations of hatred and intolerance has become such a big problem that even Washington's closest allies - Australia , Canada and Britain - have been forced to classify some groups of American origin and some American citizens as foreign terrorists.

The shooter's manifesto states that " the number of non-white occupiers in America continues to grow and grow - and no one cares " . The killer also mentioned in the manifesto a similar attack - which inspired him - carried out earlier this year by a white supremacist . He carried out a shooting in a black neighborhood in Buffalo, New York . After decades of insufficient and ineffective attempts to suppress racist and anti-government radicals, the United States has become a “ model ” country for far-right extremism and terrorism ” .
