At the Chkalovsky military airfield in the Moscow region, two Russian aircraft and a helicopter were seriously damaged as a result of the blow. Another plane received minor damage. This was reported in the press service of the Main Directorate of Intelligence (GUR) of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
"At the Chkalovsky airfield, a group of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation is investigating a sabotage, as a result of which two aircraft and one helicopter were significantly damaged on September 18, 2023, the GUR noted.
According to the press service of the department, "the event caused a large hysteria in the highest military corridors: government aircraft, the so-called" daylight aircraft "and special aircraft (reconnaissance aircraft) are based at the airfield.
According to the GUR, at the airfield, which is carefully guarded, unknown people laid the explosives and blew up the An-148 and IL-20 aircraft (both belong to 354 special forces air regiment), as well as the Mi-28N helicopter, which had previously been actively involved in the defeat of the drum drones over the Moscow region.
"Damage to the aircraft will not allow you to count on their rapid recovery. The helicopter has damaged the tail of the explosion. Another An-148, which was next to others in the parking lot, received minor damage," the press service said.
