In Russia, a combat aircraft crashed. This is the tenth case of the beginning of the year

In the Voronezh region, when performing a training flight, the Su-34 bomber crashed, TASS reports with reference to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

"On September 20, 2023, in the Voronezh region, at about 10:00 when performing a planned educational flight flight, the Su-34 aircraft had an accident. The crew of the aircraft consisting of two people was catappulted and evacuated to the base airfield. There is no threat to their health," the department says.

It is clarified that the plane fell away from the settlements and did not lead to destruction on the ground. The flight was performed without ammunition. A “technical malfunction” could be a possible cause of the accident, added to the Ministry of Defense.

According to the Telegram channel "112", the aircraft refused the landing gear. After the crash, the aircraft caught fire.

A week earlier in the Volgograd region, the Su-24 bomber fell. The collapse occurred in the Kalachevsky district, five kilometers from the spoon farm. In the area of ​​the fall, three foci of fire were discovered. Rescuers were sent to search for pilots.

Prior to this on August 12, the Su-30 fighter crashed in the Kaliningrad region. The crew died. In July, the MiG-31 fighter fell in the Kamchatka Territory, and the Su-25 attack aircraft collapsed into the Sea of ​​Azov near Yeysk.

On June 24, in the Voronezh region, during the rebellion of the PMC Vagner, the IL-22M of the Russian Air Force was shot down. All 10 crew members were killed. In May in the Bryansk region, the air group of the Air Force of the Russian Federation crashed, including Mi-8 helicopters, Su-34 fighter-bomber and Su-35 fighter. In this disaster, 9 people died.

In April, the MiG-31 fighter crashed in the Murmansk region, the pilots managed to eject. In early February, the Su-25 attack aircraft crashed in the Belgorod region after performing a combat mission. The pilot died.
