Based on the results of a psychiatric examination, the accused in the case of military “fakes” (Part 1 of Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code), Nizhny Novgorod resident Alexey Volsky, was recommended for compulsory psychiatric treatment in a hospital. This was reported by his lawyer from OVD-Info, Kristina Tyurina.
The lawyer filed a petition for a re-examination at another hospital, but the investigator refused, explaining that she had known this “expert doctor for a hundred years.”
Volsky was detained on July 13, and the next day the court sentenced him to house arrest. Despite the fact that the man has a second group disability, the investigator, when choosing a preventive measure, asked to send him to a pre-trial detention center. The reason for criminal prosecution was one post on VKontakte, in which a man condemned Russian military aggression in Ukraine.
“Lots of dead locals and nothing but destruction. In general, the Russian occupiers and the Russian government itself as a whole are to blame here. They do inhumane things,” Volsky wrote in his publication. The same phrase is present in the indictment.
