In the Chelyabinsk region, an MMA fighter was arrested in connection with a fight that resulted in the death of a Wagner PMC mercenary.

A court in the Chelyabinsk region sent a 19-year-old defendant to a pre-trial detention center in the case of causing fatal injuries to a resident of the village of Novokaolinovy, Kartalinsky district of the region. This was reported by the press service of the regional department of the Investigative Committee.

As writes the publication URA.RU with reference to the participants of the meeting, the decision was made by the Kartalinsky City Court. MMA fighter Rustam Baizhuvenov was arrested, accused in the case of the death of 38-year-old Wagner PMC mercenary Maxim Nikitin as a result of a fight.

Earlier, the Investigative Committee reported that a participant in the fight had been detained; they planned to charge him with intentionally causing grievous bodily harm resulting in death through negligence (Part 4 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code).

According to the publication 74.RU , at the end of August Nikitin came on leave from the war in Ukraine, on September 15 he met with former classmates in a bar in the village of Novokaolinovy. There, the “Wagnerian” saw that a conflict had broken out between his former classmate and Baizhuvenov, and stood up for the girl.

According to the widow of the deceased, when the athlete heard that the mercenary had returned from the front, the MMA fighter, with the words “now we will check what kind of SVOshnik he is,” struck him in the throat and broke his larynx. As a result, Nikitin fell and hit his head; he never regained consciousness. Two days later the man died in hospital.
