A mobilized Tuvan who left his unit to be with his loved ones was sentenced to 5 years in prison

The Abakan garrison military court sentenced mobilized Tuva resident Adygzhy Oorzhak to five years in a general regime colony because he left his unit to visit his family. The verdict was published attention to it drew on the court’s website, and Tayga .

According to court materials, the Tuvan was called up for service on September 27 last year by the Military Commissariat of the Barun-Khemchik and Bai-Taiginsky districts. On December 7, Oorzhak, “in order to temporarily evade military service, without good reason, wanting to take a break from his duties and be with his loved ones,” left for Kyzyl.

According to the verdict, he voluntarily came to the military commandant’s office almost four months later, on April 3. The mobilized wife said that she has three children from her first marriage, in whose upbringing Oorzhak helps.
