A Kaliningrad resident who spoke about torture was sent to a pre-trial detention center in the case of arson of an installation in the form of the letter Z in Belgorod

The Sverdlovsk District Court of Belgorod sent 28-year-old Kaliningrad resident Ilya Ch. to a pre-trial detention center in the case of arson of an installation in the form of the letter Z in Belgorod. this reports SOTAvision with reference to a correspondent in the courtroom.

The defense of the person involved in the case petitioned to place him under house arrest, but the court refused this. Earlier, the lawyer of the accused, Evgenia Suslova , said that after his arrest, her client was taken to the forest and tortured with a stun gun.

During the beatings and torture, unknown people demanded that Ilya Ch. “confess” who his “curators” were and instructed him exactly what kind of testimony he should give at the police department. According to the victim, which was relayed by the lawyer, he was struck more than 50 times with punches and kicks in various parts of the body, and was also hit with a stun gun at least 200 times.

On September 20, the Belgorod Ministry of Internal Affairs reported on the detention of a 28-year-old Kaliningrad resident - a criminal case was opened against him for vandalism motivated by hatred (Part 2 of Article 214 of the Criminal Code). According to investigators, he was involved in the arson of the installation in the form of Z , which took place on the night of September 18.

After the arrest, Ilya Ch.’s house was searched and a hand grenade and a TNT block were found. Later, according to Suslova, the security forces opened a new criminal case - about the illegal acquisition, storage and transfer of large-caliber firearms, their main parts and ammunition (Article 222.1 of the Criminal Code). The accused himself said that during the torture, unknown persons put into his hands objects similar to the saber and grenade found during the search.

On September 18, the Belgorod No. 1 telegram channel posted a video in which a man dressed in white pants and a black jacket approaches the Z installation, after which it lights up. Then several cars drive up to the scene, the drivers of which extinguish the structure until firefighters arrive. According to the mayor of the city, Valentin Demidov, the installation was “virtually undamaged.”
