The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, supported his minor son Adam, who beat Nikita Zhuralya, who was arrested on charges of burning the Qur'an.

In Kadyrov’s telegram channel, a five-second video was published , in which the son of the head of Chechnya pounces on a crane sitting on a chair and begins to beat him with fists and foot. He drops the crane on the floor and is preparing to continue the beating, on this video it ends. The victim does not resist, only tries to protect his head with his hands. Member of the Human Rights Council Eva Merkacheva said that she would send a request to law enforcement agencies on the fact of publication of the video. “I believe that now we have a video evidence of a crime. This fact is not disputed by anyone,” Merkacheva said in a commentary, which was published in the telegram channel of the journalist Ksenia Sobchak.

Sobchak subsequently wrote in Telegram that Kadyrov called her. The head of Chechnya, according to her, said that his son beat the crane on his own initiative, and that "if the court decides that Adam is guilty, then he will be punished in all severity of the law." Sobchak also noted that Kadyrov looked healthy, contrary to recently spreading on his serious illness.

The Commissioner for Human Rights, Tatyana Moskalkova, did not mention the beating at all, writing only that "during the investigation in the pre -trial detention centers" arrested "must be contained according to the rules established by law."
