The reason for drawing up an administrative protocol against Kochnev was a video with the song “Zombie” by the Irish band Cranberries, published on his page on VKontakte. It reportedly shows documentary footage from German newsreels.
Cherepanova noted that the report against Kochnev was drawn up during the election campaign, when he was running for the City Duma from the Yabloko party.
At the same time, according to Cherepanova, the court refused to conduct an audiovisual examination of the Cranberries video. Linguistic examination was also not carried out. The Ministry of Internal Affairs expert explained in court that she did not do this because the clip was in English.
