German police and customs officers searched several properties in Munich and Tegernsee owned by a Russian who is under European sanctions due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Reuters reported this with reference to a source.

The special commission “Matryoshka”, created by the German customs authorities for sanctions, reported that the searches took place on the basis of a warrant issued by the court. German authorities have not released the name of the Russian.

Usmanov's representatives deny that the searches took place at facilities that belong to him. The billionaire has no rights of control over the assets of the trust that he once founded, and “cannot know what is currently happening with the property belonging to the trust,” the press service said
