13 arrests, 5 trials, several sentences and a general result - 31 years of imprisonment and threatening 154 wagging. The New Gazeta Europe tells the heroic path of the 51-year-old Narges Mohammadi, the Iranian civilian activist with 20 years of experience, a beautiful woman, human rights activist, mother and wife, who today received the Nobel Prize of the World of 2023. Not only for the struggle against the oppression of women in Iran, but also for the promotion of human rights and freedom for everyone.
This often smiling curly, dark-haired woman began to show civil activity back in the 90s, being a physicist. After graduating from the Imam International University, Khomeini Narget did not go to work in science in science, but took up, as they say, a physics of life. She began to cooperate with the Center for the Protection of Human Rights in Tehran, founded by the Laureate of the Nobel Prize of the World Shirin Ebadi. Who then knew that Narges herself would become a laureate of this award after more than two decades.
Narges received the first long term in 2011. She was 39. The authorities thereby tried to stop the support and help, which she selflessly provided the Iranian political prisoners and their families. The name Narges by the moment has already become in Iran a kind of synonymous word “compassion”. Soon, the woman managed to free herself on bail, and she immediately joined the campaign for the phased abolition of the death penalty in the country (the “Legs” known for the Persian abbreviation).
She had everything good with her personal life. Husband, two children. Stereotypes are not about her. She did not want to leave the country. She wanted to change this country for the better. With your own hands.
In the 2002s, Narges traveled to the post of vice-president of the Center for human rights activists in Iran. And, as it is easy to guess, the appetites of the Iranian security forces grew up with the growth of popularity: the human rights activist began to almost annually expose to arrests for her speeches against the regime, as well as for journalistic (she actively wrote about torture and regularly recorded them as a witness) and human rights activities.
In 2015, she was again detained, and then sentenced to a 16-year term. On charges related exclusively with the exercise of the right to freedom of speech and assembly.
Amnesty International recognized her as a prisoner of conscience as exclusively pursued for peaceful human rights activities.
In 2019, national protests swept through the country, hundreds of protesters were killed by Iran’s security forces. Narges managed directly from prison to openly support members of the families of the dead, seeking truth and justice.

So Narges Mohammadi became one of the most famous Iranian political prisoners. In support of Mohammadi, world leader and international organizations have repeatedly performed.
After global campaigns, the authorities were forced to back to her support and in October 2020, a woman was released from prison.
But not for long. Already in May 2021, the Tehran Criminal Court No. 2 sentenced Narges without her participation in two and a half years in prison, 80 lashes and two separate fines on charges, including “spreading propaganda against the system”. The woman was notified of the sentence by mail. The paper stated that she should begin to serve his sentence. Mohammadi did not answer the notice. The reason is simple: she does not believe that in Iran there is an impartial court that passes fair sentences.
The Iranian security forces took it as impudence. In November 2021, the woman was cruel in November 2021: according to her wife Taghi Rahmani, special services agents brutally beat her, and then took her in an unknown direction. Moreover, the detention itself occurred in Karaj in the Iranian province of Alborz during a visit to the human rights activist of the People’s Memorial Ebrahim Ketabdar, who was killed by the country's security for national protests in November 2019.
The next day, Narges was able to call the family. She said that she was placed in the Tehran prison Evin, where she had to start to serve her 2.5-year prison term.
But, as always, she did not despair. Again, right from prison, she supported the protests that began in the fall of 2022, which were caused by the murder of the police police of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini, detained for the lowered hijab. Then the largest mass protests from the time of the 1979 revolution have passed in Iran.

The HRANA human rights activists information agency said that at least 475 protesters were killed and 18,240 were detained.
Narges Mohammadi made it so that they heard about these protests and victims.
Such an Iranian opposition energyizer with a female face and absolutely not revolutionary ambitions.
Everything that she achieves with her soft force: so that people do not torture, not beaten, not beaten, not planted in her individual country and not killed for an expression of her opinion.
In 2022 in the West, the book of Narges White Torture was published : Interviews with Iranian Women Prisoners (“White Torture: Interview with Iranian women-Woman ” ). Today is the book on open sale on many international resources.
And Narges is still in prison. And she is already facing not 80, but 154 strokes with a whip! And the total term of all sentences accumulated by it is 31 years.
This is the Iranian Middle Ages. Although the beaten with whips, which is used in Iran as a punishment, is qualified as torture and is a crime by international law. In particular, the whip is prohibited by Article 7 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, the participant of which is Iran.
The official Tehran has not yet responded to the award of Narges of the Nobel Prize of the World.
I must say that the Nobel Committee chose Narges from 351 nominees, including 259 people and 92 organizations. According to the rules of the award, their names will be disclosed only after fifty years. Why Narges? The answer is obvious. “The motto of the demonstrators of the very last year’s protest in Iran“ Woman - Life - Freedom ”is the best expresses the dedication and work of Narges Mohammadi,” the statement of the Nobel Committee said.
“Her bold struggle for freedom of expressing opinions and the right to independence cost huge personal losses,” said the head of the Nobel Committee Berit Raisas Andersen, declaring her victory.
I would like to hope that now the fate of Narges Mohammadi will follow the whole world.
