On Saturday morning, October 7, in Israel there was a shabat, which coincided with the outcome of the festival of Sukkot and preparation for the religious holiday Simhat Thor. At half past seven in the morning, the country was awakened by a massive shelling from the gas sector. As a rule, previous military conflicts with Hamas developed according to one scenario: the tension has been accumulating, the degree of threats grew, and then the missile and mortar shelling of the border regions began. And only then - and then not always - militants fired at large cities.
This time there were no preludes. In a few hours, a couple of thousand missiles were released in Israeli cities and villages. And while sleepy Israelis tried to understand what was happening, Palestinian militants began to attack several ways at once. On land, at the same time in about 80 places, passages were made in the border fence for motorcyclists, or the gates were blown up - for jeeps and pickups with machine guns installed on them. Armed militants on paraglider flew through the air. Both Palestinian boats and scubalists sailed across the sea.
At the sea, the IDF acted successfully, preventing the landing of the landing, but the land and air groups of terrorists without serious interference managed to overcome the border barriers.
About a thousand Islamic militants were flooded with the border areas of Israel.
When the first videos with the Hamasovites began to appear in social networks, calmly traveling on the “tachas” along the streets of the town of Deerot and shooting all whom they met in their path, this was more reminiscent of the shooting of the new season of the series “FAUA”. But it was not a movie at all.
The militants of Khamas and the Islamic Jihad managed to take control of the Deer, as well as - in whole or in part - a couple of dozen settlements of a smaller one. Some of them were able to hold until night, and in separate border villages, fighting still go.
The militants easily hacked the Israeli defense line. Technical observation tools were disabled by drones. The crews of several tanks near the border were destroyed by grenades dropped from drones, or RPG volleys in the first minutes of the attack. The duty patrols of several small military bases at the border, the militants simply smeared, appearing unexpectedly from several sides at once.
Therefore, an early shabby morning, the soft Israeli rear was completely naked.
In some places, police officers armed with pistols opposed the well -equipped and armed assault rifles of Kalashnikov. They gave the battle, but the forces were too unequal. As a result, the terrorists completely suppressed the Israeli resistance and settled in the police station of the cut, from where they managed to smoke, having smashed the bulldozers most of the building in the evening of the same day.

The Israeli police published the names and photographs of 30 of its employees who fell on the first day of the war. The Israeli defense army reported 26 fallen soldiers and officers. And five firefighters and an unspecified number of ambulances service were killed. Later, new names were added to these lists ...
Having penetrated into the Israeli villages, the Islamists shot at everything that was moving, and then began to break into the houses and pull out people from the bed, some of which were taken to gas hostages. On the evening of October 8, it became known that Hamas was holding about a hundred Israelis, the Islamic Jihad* - about thirty. Judging by the personnel in social networks, this is not only military personnel, but also civilians - women with young children, elderly people. Among the stolen are Thai foreign workers, whom Hamasovskaya propaganda gives out as Israeli soldiers.

However, from the point of view of radical Islamists, any resident of Israel is a soldier. Either the current, either the future, or the former, and therefore radical Islamic ideology in Gaza justifies the destruction of any Israelis, regardless of age and gender.
A separate tragic and shocking incident was the execution of participants in the music festival near the village of Raim. According to eyewitnesses, the organizers of the event received a notification of air anxiety and turned off the music. According to the instructions of the rear command, if the shelling is found in an open area, you must either find a shelter or lie on the ground, which was said from the stage. At that moment, up to two thousand people were in the open -air field.
Suddenly, pickups with Palestinian militants who opened a random fire jumped out on several sides. The festival guard tried to resist, but it was suppressed. Some of the participants, including the wounded, the militants stuffed them into cars and took them to the gas. Hamas began to spread the videos with them among the first.

The scale of the tragedy has not yet been finally estimated. On October 8, the Israeli defense army completely returned this territory under its control, after which the official number of the dead grew sharply. As of the evening of October 8, at least 260 people were found on the field and in the vicinity.
In the evening, relatives of about three hundred Israelis, dancing at a party with whom they could not establish a connection, held a press conference in Ramat Gan, where they demanded that the authorities begin to cooperate with them and inform them about what happened.
The audience at a press conference talked about how they talked with their loved ones for the last time, but since then they could not get any information about them anywhere and from anyone. Judging by GPS, some of them were stolen and are in gas. Others, apparently, were killed - they were shot by militants,
And the parents heard all this, because at that moment they were on the line with their children, trying to reassure and support them. Many in the hall hugged and cried. The translator who translated the words of the parents from Hebrew on the air of the Israeli Russian-speaking 9th Canal, burst into tears and could not calm down.
The retired brigade General Gal Hirsch was appointed coordinator for the interaction of relatives of the dead and missing Israelis with the authorities.
A five -year -old red -haired boy, who, together with his mother and little brother or sister, took off the militants took a symbol of the abducted Israelis. The video shows how Palestinian children mock him. On social networks, some of these shots caused an association with a Jewish boy with raised hands in a ghetto in a well -known photo of the Holocaust times.
The Minister of Strategic Planning of Israeli Ron Dermer said in an interview with CNN that the number of dead Israelis is much exceeding the figures that are gradually published after checking - 750 people at the time of this publication. Therefore, Israel does not know how many stolen in gas, because the dead are still not calculated.
On Monday morning, October 9, the Chinese news agency Sinhua reported that, through the mediation of Qatar, negotiations are underway on the imminent liberation of the abducted women (and what about their children and old people?) In exchange for Palestinians serving a sentence in Israeli prisons. Hamas refuted such messages earlier.
The nature of the attack and its scale suggests that Hamas did not prepare it independently, but under someone's sensitive guidance. And already on the first day, Israeli President Yitzhak the Duke clearly indicated whose hand it was - Iran.
For Hamas, this is not just a risky, but a suicidal mission. And therefore, he must be sure that he is behind a strong ally. Because if individual missile shelling Israel was ready to ignore at times, or react to them relatively softly,
then such a megaterate with such a high number of those who died among civilians cannot remain unanswered. In the United States, the current war has already been called "Israeli on September 11."
Therefore, there is no doubt that the gas sector is waiting for a large -scale land surgery. Hamas did not leave the Israeli leadership of choice. Perhaps the calculation was on a “multi -way” - the involvement of the Lebanese Hezbollah in the confrontation under one or another pretext, or the implementation of a similar script in the north of Israel. This was warned of this last year by analysts.

Experts believe that this scenario of the attack prepared the Iranian Corps of the Islamic Revolution Guardians - an intensive missile shelling, and under its cover - the invasion of large sabotage groups, and to control Israeli settlements with the subsequent capture of hostages.
Therefore, it is no coincidence that the US Navy aircraft carrier group, which is headed by the Gerald Ford aircraft carrier, goes to the shores of Israel. And now Hezbollah, which on the eve of organizing provocations and fired at the Israeli bases on the border, was back on the border, saying that he would not enter the war, “if Israel does not annoy” to her.
Iran firmly announced that he had nothing to do with what was happening. “The accusations attributing to Iran the role in the events ... have political grounds,” said the press secretary of the Iranian Foreign Ministry Nasseri. According to him, the Islamic Republic does not interfere "in decision -making in other countries, including Palestine."
However, the Wall Street Journal has published a journalistic investigation, which showed that it was very interfering. It was Iran, according to journalists, that helped prepare an attack, and then at the end of last week he gave a green light on it.
Although the head of the combat wing Hamas Muhammad Def announced that the cause of the Al-Aksa Storm unleashed by the Al-Aksa Storm was Israeli attacks on the Al-Aksa Mosque (Temple Mount Complex), this is not about the reason, but about the reason. In recent weeks, there were no particularly vivid incidents on the temple mountain that could become a legitimate justification of such a ruthless attack.
Rather, the motives are different here. In recent months under the auspices of the United States, negotiations have been underway between Israel and Saudi Arabia on the normalization of relations. And one of the stumbling stumbling stones in these negotiations is the Palestinian question, although Israel, judging by the drains, is ready to make serious concessions that can even cost Benjamin Netanyahu coalition.
This is a common pain for both Hamas and Iran.
Hamas risks completely stopping to receive and so impoverished Saudi help, and in Tehran nervously react to the prospect of the union of his two most sworn opponents. Therefore, Iran really tried to do everything to drive a wedge between them.
The long -term land operation of Israel in Gaza will lead to inevitable victims among the Palestinians. And the Saudi leadership will undergo pressure and criticism for attempts to interact with the Jewish state. Whether the Iranian rate will work, it will become clear in the coming weeks.

As of October 9, intense battles are still underway in the border zone at the gas sector, and it believes that there is, apparently, there is a way out of the underground tunnel in the territory of one of the villages, thanks to which the militants receive replenishment. It is not possible to apply airline on it, because people can hide in the surrounding houses, or hold hostages.
The press secretary Daniel Hagari said that 300 thousand reservists have already been called up. This is eight times more than in the operation "indestructible rock" in the summer of 2014. A war of several weeks is expected. Perhaps months.
Thus, we are talking about an absolutely unprecedented situation for Israel, which, it would seem, over decades of neighborhood with Palestinian radicalism, did anything.
This is confirmed by the fact that on October 8, the Israeli military-political cabinet activated clause 40 Alef to the Basic Law on the Government-on entering the war. The last time this item was involved in 1973, in the war day.
And this is not the only parallel with the events of those days.
It was no accident that the attack was carried out exactly 50 years later and one day after the Day of Judgment. In a symbolic way, it showed that the situation is repeated - the political and military leadership again turned out to be unprepared, overestimating its own forces, underestimating the forces and motivation of the enemy.
After the war, the Day of Judgment was convened by the Agranat Commission, which investigated the reasons for the failure of the leadership on the eve and during the war. After it, a number of politicians, including Prime Minister Golda Meir and the heads of power structures, resigned. There is no doubt that a similar commission will be created after a bitter war.
Last week, at a meeting of law enforcement agencies, they assessed the situation and came to the conclusion that in the near future, Hamas did not plan an escalation, as he was more interested in resolving internal, including economic problems. This happened a couple of days before Megabatak.
There are many questions:
How can such a large and carefully calculated operation with the participation of thousands of people, difficult in logistics performance, could be planned under the nose of Israel, but either was not known about it, or was nothing undertaken?
Why did the army be so much relied on on a “smart” fence, surveillance cameras, artificial intelligence and a system of autonomous shooting, and the border was actually defenseless at a crucial moment?
Is the state of Israel actually ready for the war of the 21st century - with point intelligence, cyberosis, missiles and drones controlled by religious fanatics?
Well, and most importantly - how will the current events affect Israeli society, especially comparing them with the trauma that the Israelis received in the war day?
“There will be much more injury,” says Grigory Kotlyar, the rabbi of the Russian -speaking reformist community. - Then there was no such number of victims from among the civilian population. There were no children and the elderly. And then Israel still dealt with the states with which it was possible to negotiate the exchange of prisoners. Now we are dealing with a terrorist organization, negotiating with which it is completely pointless.
