Holy Martyr Nikolai Sadovsky

Nikolai Sadovsky - the son of a deacon of the village of the Patriarch of the Zadonsky district of the Voronezh province (now the village of Donskoy, Zadonsky district of the Lipetsk region). In 1910, being 16 years old, he graduated from the Zadon Theological School, in 1916 - the Voronezh Theological Seminary. Married. Being still a student of the seminary, he served as a psalmist in the theological church of the village of Lubny (now the stone Lubna of the Lebedyansky district).

On June 29, 1917, he was ordained a priest of the John-Bogoslovsk Church in the village of Lubna.

In 1931, after the closure of the temple, the Sadovsky family moved to the village of Vodopyanovo (Donskoye). He served in the Church of the Epiphany of the Lord.

In the summer of 1932 about. Nikolai was arrested for "counter -revolutionary agitation" against collective farms. He spent two and a half months in prison. On October 14 of the same year, he was released from a conclusion. They did not even start things to do.

July 24, 1935 was again arrested. He was accused of on July 16, 1935 during the technical inspection of the church “for its fitness”, it was opposed to the RIC commission, or rather did not sign the act to close the church, as well as in “counter -revolutionary agitation”. On October 23, 1935, in a closed hearing of the special college, he was sentenced to 8 years in prison. He was sent to the Middle Baltic camp of the Dallag NKVD of the Far Eastern (Khabarovsk) Territory.

In February 1938, he was arrested in the camp for the group "The case of the Archbishop of the Kursk Onufry, Belgorod Anthony and others of the priestly and church servants." A group of priests, together with Archbishop Onufry (Gagalyuk), (Anthony (Pankeev) and O. Nikolai, was transported to the prison of Blagoveshchensk. None of them found himself guilty. On March 17, 1938, the Troika of the NKVD in the Khabarovsk Territory of the Holy. Nikolai Sadovsky was sentenced to execution.
