In Russia, a military man was accused of looting for the first time

The publication notes that this is the first known case in which a Russian serviceman will be tried for looting. Kachlavov is also charged with two counts of abuse of power, including with the use of weapons, grave consequences and for selfish reasons. In addition, he is accused of possession of drugs on a large scale, as well as illegal possession of firearms and explosives. A start date for his trial has not yet been set.

“Mediazona” writes that it has found a military man whose last name, first name and patronymic completely coincide with the information of the accused. In 2014, Kachlavov held the position of deputy battalion commander in military unit 3724 - in a separate operational brigade of Vladikavkaz, which now belongs to the Russian Guard. And in 2017-2018 he became the head of the unit. Following the start of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, Lieutenant Colonel Ruslan Kachlavov likely received the Zhukov Medal.
