A criminal case has been opened in Latvia against a company supplying uniforms to the Russian army.

The Latvian authorities have opened a criminal case against a company supplying uniforms to Russia for the Russian army. This was reported on the website of the State Security Service of Latvia.

The department's press release does not indicate the name of the company. It is known that a criminal case has been initiated against her under Article 77.2 of the Criminal Code of the Republic (indirect transfer of property to a party participating in an armed conflict outside Latvia).

According to investigators, the company transferred property to the Russian army, which opposed “the territorial integrity of Ukraine.” The company's office was searched, during which documents, storage media and cash in the amount of more than 500 thousand euros were seized.

LETA reports that we are talking about the company Arta-F. Delfi journalists point out that before the initiation of the case, Latvian television showed a story about this company with reference to the Polygon Media investigation.

In its investigation, the publication reported that Arta-F, which produces components for clothing, cooperates with the Russian Ministry of Defense, despite sanctions and war. During the year and a half of the war, the company supplied at least $6 million worth of products to Russia. Most of the components for the uniform were purchased by the BTK-Group holding, which supplies uniforms to the Russian National Guard, the Investigative Committee and the Ministry of Defense.

According to Firmas.lv, Arta-F was registered in 1991 with an authorized capital of 713 thousand euros. In 2022, the company's turnover was 8 million euros and its profit was 984 thousand euros. In 2021, she earned only 180 thousand, Polygon Media noted. The beneficiaries of the company are Vladislav Andreev and Vitaly Andreev.
