Artist Vasily Slonov was fined for a tumbler doll with "prison" tattoos. The court ordered the toy itself to be destroyed

The Central District Court of Krasnoyarsk fined artist Vasily Slonov for a tumbler doll with “prison” tattoos, Sibirsky Express and Prospekt Mira report.

Siberian Express clarifies that the toy had eight-pointed stars drawn on it, which are considered a symbol of AUE , which the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation declared an “extremist organization” in 2020.

The tumbler doll was exhibited in Krasnoyarsk at the Novotel Hotel as part of the “Gulag-Toys” exhibition, where, according to Prospekt Mira, one could buy, for example, passport covers from the “Cotton Bears” series or a baby pacifier with barbed wire.

The court classified the tumbler doll exhibited at "Gulag-Toys" as a "public demonstration of symbols of extremist organizations" and imposed a fine of one thousand rubles. The toy was confiscated and destroyed.

In a conversation with Prospekt Mira, Slonov called the administrative case a "simple misunderstanding." Nevertheless, Sibirsky Express writes, the artist admitted his guilt.
