St. Petersburg resident Oleg Belousov, sentenced to five and a half years in prison, was transferred to IK-5 in the Kirov region, where he will serve his sentence. He spoke about this in his letter to OVD-Info.
Belousov was sentenced in March 2023, and on September 4, the appeal court approved this decision. According to the man, he was sent to the stage on September 29, although by that time he had not yet been provided with a paper appeal decision.
He also said that on October 25 he was placed on preventive registration in the colony in connection with a sentence on extremist charges.
Belousov has a third disability group; in his letter he spoke about the deterioration of his health in prison. He would like to see an osteopath who has helped him in the past.
The court found Oleg Belousov guilty under articles about “fakes” about the Russian army (Part 2 of Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code) and calls for extremist activity (Part 2 of Article 280 of the Criminal Code). In addition to imprisonment, the man was banned from publishing on the Internet for four years. Belousov was detained in June 2022, after which he was sent to a pre-trial detention center.
The reason for the accusation of military “fakes” was messages in the “ St. Petersburg Diggers ” group on VKontakte. Among other things, they called the Russian military “Putler’s fascists” who “shoot peaceful people and shoot at houses.” These comments also referred to war crimes in Bucha, Irpen and Gostomel.
Among the comments was the phrase “Putin is traitor number one, who has plundered the country and is a war criminal!” Subsequently, this statement became the reason for the prosecution of Belousov under another article - about calls for extremist activity. This criminal case was opened against him in October 2022; Subsequently, both cases were combined into one proceeding.
