In March, the Timiryazevsky District Court of Moscow sentenced him to 8.5 years in prison for posts in the telegram channel “Protest MSU”, which the investigation considered fakes about the Russian army. Ivanov started him five years ago - he wrote about the problems of the university and student activism.

Since February 2022, the theme of the channel has changed: now he reported the murders of civilians, destroyed by Ukrainian cities and anti -war performances in Russia.

As an activist with experience, which, together for more than a hundred days of administrative arrest, Ivanov could not help but understand what was risking - but did not leave the country. A few minutes before the sentence, he said: “I urge everyone to do what they can, I believe that we will stop the war and create a new democracy.”
