In St. Petersburg, seven people were arrested for imitating the work of security forces and beating lying “detainees”

The Smolninsky District Court of St. Petersburg arrested for five days seven men who imitated the work of security forces and beat the lying “detainees.” This was reported by the joint press service of the city courts.

Dmitry Romantsev, Bogdan Saribekyan, Alexander Zhokhov, Alexander Demyanov, Roman Malyshev, Ilya Barbashin and Ivan Khrabrov were found guilty of petty hooliganism (Part 1 of Article 20.1 of the Administrative Code).

The court ruled that the men forced people to the ground, hit them with sticks and used airsoft guns, thereby "creating a negative image of law enforcement." By their actions, they “ignored the rules of decency and demonstrated disrespect for society,” the report said.

On October 29, the telegram channel “Mash on the Moika” published a video showing men in uniforms similar to those of riot police beating other men lying on the ground. According to the channel, the “detention” and beatings were carried out by staged prank actors who were trying to put on a show for the participants of the coaching meeting.

“Mash on the Moika” writes that in the end, 20 people were taken to the police station: both those who played the role of “security forces” and those who were “detained.”
