messenger The Telegram blocked the “Morning Dagestan” channel, where the first messages appeared about “refugees from Israel” allegedly arriving in the North Caucasus, and calls to meet them at the Makhachkala airport.
“The user does not exist,” it says when trying to open a channel using a direct link.
The blocking was also confirmed by the founder of the messenger, Pavel Durov. “Channels calling for violence <…> will be blocked for violating the rules of Telegram , Google , Apple and the entire civilized world,” he wrote .
Durov added to his post a screenshot from the channel “Morning Dagestan”, where there were the words: “We hate Yahuds (Jews - MZ)!!! We will not let you live in peace or be in Dagestan or the Caucasus!!!”
The channel “Morning Dagestan” published the first reports about “refugees from Israel” allegedly arriving in the North Caucasus, and calls to meet them at the Makhachkala airport. As a result, a crowd of people on the evening of October 29 stopped cars leaving the airport in search of Jews, broke into the airfield and threw stones at a bus carrying flight passengers.
The Morning Dagestan channel, which in the fall of 2022 also covered protests against mobilization in the republic, is associated with ex-State Duma deputy Ilya Ponomarev, who moved to Ukraine. He himself said that he “helped” the resource at the launch stage, but has not collaborated with its authors for more than a year.
