The State Duma stripped the powers of deputy Belousov, convicted of bribery, and his name disappeared from the Ministry of Internal Affairs search database.

The State Duma prematurely deprived of the powers of A Just Russia deputy Vadim Belousov, who was convicted in absentia in a bribery case (Part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code). According to Mediazona, on October 19, Belouslov’s name disappeared from the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ search database.

In addition to him, LDPR deputy Vasily Vlasov was also deprived of his powers ahead of schedule. As writes Vedomosti , the formal reasons for this in both cases were absenteeism by parliamentarians. As a colleague of Belousov and Vlasov told the publication, the former did not appear in the State Duma for almost two years, and the latter, “without good reason,” did not attend meetings for more than 40 days in a row.

In August 2022, the Moscow City Court sentenced Vadim Belousov in absentia to ten years in a maximum security colony. According to investigators , from 2010 to 2014, he and the then governor of the Chelyabinsk region, Mikhail Yuryevich, received more than 3 billion rubles from the management of Yuzhuralavtoban CJSC for providing state contracts for road repairs.

Belousov did not come to the meeting then. The lawyer explained this by “[the deputy’s] busy schedule and previously scheduled work meetings.” According to Mediazona, on August 12, 2022, the parliamentarian was put on the wanted list.

Since March 2021, Vasily Vlasov has been the first deputy head of the LDPR faction in the State Duma. During the rebellion of Yevgeny Prigozhin in June 2023, the deputy supported the demands of the Wagner PMC mercenaries. After this, a search was carried out in his reception room , and LDPR leader Leonid Slutsky announced that disciplinary proceedings were being carried out against the parliamentarian.
