Journalists of the publication “Siberia. Realii" confirmed the name of one of the suspects in the murder of nine people in the city of Volnovakha (annexed Donetsk region). This is 28-year-old Stanislav Rau.
The names of the suspects were previously named by the anonymous telegram channel “VChK OGPU” - it reported that these were Russian servicemen from the Primorsky Territory, 21-year-old Anton Sopov and 28-year-old Stanislav Rau.
Stanislav’s brother Leonid told reporters “Siberia. Realities": "Now the whole family is in shock. We simply cannot believe that he could do such a thing. I learned about this in the first hours after [the murder]. I thought, well, no, no. Then I watched the photo and video. Well, yes, this is brother. The mother refuses to believe, she still hopes that some miracle will happen. Our whole family tried to get him out of there, we went to military registration and enlistment offices. I think it was the war that knocked his head off.”
According to Leonid, Stanislav Rau served in the 155th Guards Marine Brigade of the Pacific Fleet, and in March he enlisted in the Wagner PMC. The VChK OGPU channel wrote that both suspects fought as part of the Storm detachment.
Relatives of the second suspect did not answer journalists' questions. The publication noted that Anton Sopov’s father, Ruslan, has been listed in the database of the Ukrainian website “Peacemaker” since 2016 as a driver-rigger of the anti-aircraft missile battalion of the 60th motorized rifle brigade. A family friend told reporters that Ruslan may be participating in the war.
The Cheka-OGPU writes that in August 2023, the Governor of the Kamchatka Territory Vladimir Solodov met with servicemen of the 155th Guards Marine Brigade of the Pacific Fleet. Among those present were Rau and Sopov.
