A St. Petersburg resident became involved in a case of financing extremism due to a donation from FBK in 2021

A case was opened against an employee of an aircraft repair company from St. Petersburg for financing extremist activities due to a donation to the Anti-Corruption Foundation (FBK) by politician Alexei Navalny in August 2021. This was reported by Baza and Mediazona .

The Telegram channel claims that the reason for initiating the case was a donation of two thousand rubles. Siederer sent it to the American FBK account. Baza also writes that the case was opened on October 30, and Siederer was released on an obligation to appear. He faces up to eight years in prison.

The Moscow City Court recognized FBK, the Foundation for the Protection of Citizens' Rights and Navalny's headquarters as “extremist” organizations in June 2021. The decision came into force on August 4. The first defendant in the case over FBK donations last summer was the co-founder of Dissernet, physicist and journalist Andrei Zayakin.
