In the Tver region, deputies of the local Legislative Assembly passed a law that prohibits “inducing” women to have abortions in the region.
According to the document, “inducing” a woman to have an artificial abortion “through persuasion, proposals, bribery or deception” will be punishable by administrative fines. For citizens they will range from three to five thousand rubles, for officials - from 25 to 50 thousand, and for legal entities - from 100 to 200 thousand.
“An administrative offense is considered committed regardless of whether an artificial termination of pregnancy was performed,” says the press service of the Legislative Assembly of the Tver Region.
The first region where penalties for “inducing” abortions appeared was Mordovia. There, at the beginning of August, fines from five to 200 thousand rubles were introduced. The same ban may be adopted in the Tambov region. Local governor Maxim Egorov introduced a corresponding bill to the regional Duma.
