The magistrate of court district No. 210 of St. Petersburg fined eight local residents 1,300 rubles each because of an action during which they imitated the work of riot police on Nevsky Prospekt. Roman Malyshev, Alexander Zhokhov, Ivan Khrabrov, Alexander Demyanov, Ilya Barbashin, Andrey Elizariev, Dmitry Romantsev and Yegor Paltsev were found guilty under the article on illegally wearing uniforms with the symbols of law enforcement agencies (Part 1 of Article 17.12 of the Administrative Code). The court also decided to confiscate the uniform from St. Petersburg residents.
During the meeting, St. Petersburg residents noted that the inscription OMON on their uniform meant “mobile detachment of the mood organization.” The action, during which St. Petersburg residents “beat with sticks” citizens lying on the ground and “used airsoft weapons,” thereby “creating a negative image of the work of law enforcement agencies” and “demonstrating disrespect for society,” took place on October 28.
Previously, the Smolninsky District Court sentenced participants of the action Dmitry Romantsev, Bogdan Saribekyan, Alexander Zhokhov, Alexander Demyanov, Roman Malyshev, Ilya Barbashin and Ivan Khrabrov to five days of arrest. They were found guilty under the article of petty hooliganism (Part 1 of Article 20.1 of the Administrative Code).
The telegram channel “Mash on the Moika” published a video from the action on October 29. According to the channel, it was the actors of staged practical jokes who took part in it, who wanted to put on a show for the participants of the coaching meeting.
