LGBT Catholics received a new portion of rights in the church. As stated in the document published on November 8, the Congregation of the Testament of the Holy See, transsexuals can receive baptism, as well as become recipients (godparents) for other baptized people or witnesses at a church wedding. The Catholic Church practicing homosexuals will now also be allowed to be used by the recipients at baptism.
Despite the curtains of the liberal pope Francis towards LGBT people, the Catholic Church retained a conservative practice: homosexuals were allowed to the sacraments only after repentance that they practice illegitimate sex (and marriage, in the teaching of the Catholic Church, is a sustainable alliance of one man with one woman). Now she takes a significant step towards revising this practice.
The congregation of the creed in this was helped by the famous Catholic "legalism", which the Western Church borrowed from ancient Roman law. This approach, in particular, absolutizes the principle "all that is not prohibited is allowed." According to this logic, illegitimate sex, of course, is a sin, but its committing in itself does not turn a Catholic into an apostate or heretic. Therefore, if a person, even living in sin, becomes a recipient of the baptized, then the church “receives reasonable hope” that this baptized will be brought up in the Catholic faith. As for the floor change, such a practice is generally not directly reflected in the Holy Scriptures and classic canonical law, therefore, it turns out that the Catholic Church does not have legal grounds to somehow limit transsexuals/transgender people, unless they commit any heavy sins. However, the document still introduces one restriction for LGBT participants in baptism or wedding: their participation in the sacraments is possible “subject to the lack of the risk of a public scandal or disorientation among believers”.
That is, any external signs of belonging to these people to the LGBT community will have to be excluded during the commission of the sacraments.
In 2020, the documentary of the Russian director Evgeny Athenievsky “Francis” living in the United States was released, which caused a scandal due to pope’s words about same-sex families. These words in the Russian translation sounded like this: “homosexuals have the right to a family. They are the children of God and have the right to the family. No one should be unhappy because of this ... We must adopt a law on the civilian union. Thus, they will be protected by law. I played for it. "

Germany became the center of the LGBT movement in the Catholic Church, but the diocese of Latin America, where Francis (aka Khorge Mario Bergolo) served until his election to the papal throne, on the contrary, remained a stronghold of traditionalist homophobia. When the initiative group of German Catholics began to be especially active in achieving the blessing of same -sex couples, the Vatican Congregation of the creed delicately but firmly replied : “There is no reason to join the same -sex union of the plan of the god about marriage and the family or to draw an analogy between them.” The phrase of Francis about the “right to family” was interpreted by the official Vatican in the sense that the pontiff speaks of the right to adopt children, but not about equating a single -sex union with a legal Christian marriage.
Overcoming the inertia of medieval scholasticism and trying to fit the Catholic Church into the new reality of the world of Western democracy and tolerance, the second Vatican Council (1962–1965) proclaimed the church "Ajornento" (compliance with the spirit of time, "modernization"). Since for most Western societies the problem of equal rights of LGBT people is already solved, Catholic theology has to adapt to this new reality. The alternative here, ultimately, is the self -isolation of the Catholic Church and the permanent conflict with the Western way of life, like what the current Russian Orthodox Church preaches.
Following the principle of “Ajornamento”, the Vatican is forced, albeit with a significant delay, to perceive the basics of Quir-word, which became the official teaching of most Protestant churches of the West.
The founder of such a theology in the Anglican world is the canon Derrick Shervin Bailey, who served in Wells. In 1955, he published the book “Homosexuality and Western Christian tradition”, in which, in particular, he criticized the traditional view of the history of Sodom and Gomorrah (as if God executed their inhabitants for homosexual practices), and he interpreted the relations of the Holy Tsar David and Jonathan as homoerotic.
After 20 years, the Catholic priest from the USA John James McCnil published the book “Church and homosexual”, in which he proposed to abandon the tradition of homophobic interpretation of the Bible and admit that the prohibitions of the Old Testament are “spiritual”, metaphorical character. If they are understood literally in our time, then, for example, it will be necessary to score stones to the death of all those who come or atheists. Quir-mobility interprets the “homophobic” fragments of the Bible based on the principle of equality of sexual orientations: that is, practices that are reprehensible for heterosexuals are not such for homo- or bisexuals, and vice versa.
The first Open Homeless Priest, William Reagan Johnson, was ordained in California in 1972 in the Protestant Congregationalist Church. In the same year, the Synod of the Lutheran Church of the Netherlands recognized the right of homosexuals to serve in the sacred dignity, and since 1977, such ordination began to practice the United States’s episcopal church. In the 1990–2000s. LGBT people began to ordain the Evangelical-Lutheran churches of Scandinavia and Germany, the Church of England, and in 2015 the last bastion of traditionalism surrendered in the world of “high” Protestantism-the Church of Scotland.

The Russian Orthodox Church is traditionally indignant and protests against this behavior of its former partners in the ecumenical dialogue, especially since Russia has now covered the “spiritual scrapers”, and “propaganda of LGBT” is criminalized. This greatly complicates the attempts of a few Russian theologians calmly and impartly, taking into account scientific data from biology or psychology, to understand the problem. While it is completely taboo and stigmatized in the Russian Federation.
Only hysterical screams break out in the public field, like the current “commentary” of the Orthodox oligarch and the owner of the Constantinople of Konstantin Malofeev: “Francis is not just a lobbyist, and the leader of the Vatican homosexual mafia ... Solders of the Kingdom of God do not inherit ( but what about lesbians or transsexuals? Honest Catholics have only one way out. The outcome from this sodom. Preferably in Orthodoxy. " And Patriarch Kirill completely explained the beginning of his “his” need to prevent gay parade in Donetsk. Thank you at least a nuclear bomb on the Vatican is not yet offered to reset, since God is in no hurry to throw sulfur from the sky on him, as in the same time at the same soda!
In a past life, about 20 years ago, the Russian Orthodox Church showed a significantly more restrained approach to the problem of multiplicity of sexual orientations among the human population. Section XII is dedicated to this topic. 9 "Fundamentals of social teaching" of the Russian Orthodox Church. It contains calls to “treat pastoral responsibility to people with homosexual inclinations”, and “not to refuse anyone in the basic rights to life, respect for personal dignity and participation in public affairs”.
The document allows transsexuals to the sacraments of the Russian Orthodox Church, but taking into account the belonging of “to the floor in which they are born”, avoiding only their wedding or ordination.
It remains to be amazed that such a “liberal” text is still posted on the official website of the Russian Orthodox Church. However, it is no longer a secret that among the highest episcopate of this church, homosexual orientation is hardly dominant, acquiring quite bizarre forms there, really balancing on the verge of criminal (using official position, financial dependence or alcohol to coercive young clergy or seminarians to go to sexual relations, etc.). Many Russian priests of the Russian Orthodox Church have been convicted in recent years for pedophilia, mainly homosexual.
In the lives of holy or ascetic collections, such as “kind -love”, the presence of individual people, including the great ascetics of faith, homosexual orientation, is recognized as a classical Orthodox tradition, unlike its modern repressive version, is not carried away by the hypocritical denial of the phenomenon itself. She recommends to people who carry such a cross (however, like everyone else) to "transform Eros's energy into a fertile state of spiritual love and liberation from passions."
