Israel has opened corridors to evacuate civilians from hospitals in northern Gaza

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) opened corridors for the evacuation of civilians from the Shifa, Rantisi and Nasser hospitals located in the northern Gaza Strip.

The IDF also released an audio recording of a conversation with one of the Shifa Hospital employees. It shows an Israeli army officer saying that the street east of the hospital is clear. He also clarifies that ambulances can pass through it.

Earlier, the head of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus , wrote that contact with the coordinator at Shifa Hospital had been lost. According to him, the hospital is surrounded by tanks, and those who tried to escape from the hospital were allegedly shot.

The day before, IDF spokesman Daniel Hagari said during a briefing that Shifa's staff asked the Israeli military to evacuate children from the hospital. “We communicate directly and regularly with hospital staff. Shifa's staff has asked us to help the children in the pediatric ward get to a safer hospital tomorrow. We will provide the necessary assistance,” quotes him as saying. The Times of Israel

At the same time, on November 11, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that the IDF had completed the encirclement of Gaza. “Hamas has lost control of the northern Gaza Strip. There is no safe place left for the terrorists to hide. We will destroy Hamas and save our hostages,” he said .

Netanyahu stressed that the Israeli military will remain in the Gaza Strip as long as necessary to demilitarize Hamas. He also said he opposed the transfer of power in the enclave to the Palestinian National Authority, led by Mahmoud Abbas, because he had not condemned the Hamas attack on Israel.
