Due to measles, one of the faculties of Moscow State University switched to distance learning

The Faculty of World Politics at Moscow State University was transferred to distance learning after one of the students fell ill with measles. this RBC reports with reference to the university press service.

They reported that the remote control regime will last at least until December 1. At the same time, employees who have either had measles or have been vaccinated against it twice are allowed to continue working at the faculty.

“The building (Leninskie Gory, 1, building 51) has been disinfected. Medical monitoring of contacts has been organized. The Medical Research and Educational Center of Moscow State University is vaccinating students and teachers of the Faculty of World Politics of Moscow State University who do not have information about double vaccination against measles or a history of the disease,” the press service said.

The dean's office of another faculty, located in the same building as the Faculty of World Politics, told RBC that there was no order to close the entire building, students study as scheduled.

In May, the Faculty of Philosophy of Moscow State University already transferred first- to third-year undergraduate students, first-year graduate students, and all additional education programs to distance learning. Later, rector Viktor Sadovnichy clarified that two cases of measles were recorded at Moscow State University.

Previously, the Ministry of Education and Science recommended that universities not allow employees and students with signs of ARVI and skin rashes to attend classes and work in full-time. If a sick person is detected, educational institutions were advised to transfer students to distance learning and report the incident to Rospotrebnadzor.
