The Vasileostrovsky Court of St. Petersburg sentenced the artist Sasha Skochilenko to seven years in prison in the case of anti-war price tags, the Novo-European correspondent from the courtroom reports. Earlier, the state prosecutor demanded to give the girl eight years of the colony.

Given the time spent in the pre -trial detention center, Skochilenko should spend four years and eight months in a general regime colony.

Skochilenko was found guilty under the article on “fakes” about the Russian army based on “political enmity” (part 2 of article 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The girl did not plead guilty and rejected the statement that she had dissolved false information.

On April 13, 2022, Sasha Skochilenko was arrested for replacing price tags in the Perekrestok store in St. Petersburg with information about the dead civilians during the shelling of the drama theater in Mariupol.

Later it became known that a 72-year-old pensioner wrote a denunciation for a girl. “I was extremely outraged by the slander I read, because I am very worried about Russian soldiers in Ukraine, I watch all the news about this,” the woman said during the testimony. At the same time, she later noted that she was surprised by such a severe punishment for Skochilenko.

“Honestly, I believe that if [Daria] Trepova is given 15 years, then, of course, it would be smaller by the pieces of paper. I was actually surprised. From the very beginning, the prosecutors said: what kind of stupidity? For this they do not give the same amount. Parged and released, ”the woman said.

Skochilenko recognized the fact of the spread of leaflets, but stated that she did not consider herself guilty of the spread of fakes.

“I just wanted to stop the war - this was my motivation. Not hatred, but compassion. I am sure that every person in this hall does not want a war to be, ” said Skochilenko at one of the court sessions.

During his stay in the pre-trial detention center, Skochilenko deteriorated the state of health due to the lack of gluten food, necessary for the girl due to the confirmed diagnosis of celiac disease (genetic intolerance to gluten). Without the necessary drugs, diets and a permanent medical girl, a girl can die from a sudden cardiac arrest.

In addition, Skochilenko said that due to daily court hearings, she was actually hunger. In the court itself, she was refused to provide 10 minutes for meals.

“I am delivered to the court early in the morning, for this I have to get up at six in the morning. They take me away from the court for about 22 hours, the road in a pre -trial detention center takes me another hour and a half, until twelve in the morning I am on my feet, and at six in the morning to get up again. I don’t get to lunch, nor for dinner in the pre -trial detention center, ”the girl emphasized.

Also, due to daily hearings, friends and acquaintances of Skochilenko cannot give her programs, since they are not accepted in the pre-trial detention center on the eve of the meetings.

Lawyer Dmitry Gerasimov presented the court with certificates of client diseases and personal guarantees: deputies of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg Boris Vishnevsky and Mikhail Amosov, politician Lev Schlosberg and municipal deputy Sergei Troshin entrusted Skolichenko.
