Roskomnadzor received the right to block sites with instructions on how to bypass blocking

The Russian government has allowed Roskomnadzor to limit or close access to sites that contain information about bypassing blocking. The resolution was published on the official portal of regulatory legal acts.

According to the document, we are talking about publications that talk about “methods of providing access to information resources and (or) information and telecommunication networks, access to which is limited on the territory of the Russian Federation.”

The Ministry of Digital Development has developed a draft resolution allowing Roskomnadzor to block sites by bypassing blocking in September 2023.

• The Public Communications Network Monitoring and Management Center reported in October 2023 that 167 VPN services were blocked in Russia.
