The Ministry of Internal Affairs did not find extremism in Margarita Simonyan’s proposal to arrange a nuclear explosion over Siberia. this on his Telegram channel Moscow City Duma deputy Evgeny Stupin reported and sent a corresponding request to the security forces.
“During the inspection, no grounds for a response were identified in accordance with the federal law “On Combating Extremist Activities,” says the department’s response, a photo of which was published by Stupin.
“Of course, this is not putting up anti-war price tags in a store,” the deputy commented, referring to the anti-war action of artist Sasha Skochilenko, for which she was sentenced to seven years in prison.
In October 2023, the head of the RT television channel, Margarita Simonyan, said on air that “somewhere over Siberia” it was possible to arrange a “thermonuclear explosion.” She explained that this will not lead to consequences on the ground, but will become a “nuclear ultimatum” that will help in the fight against the West, which is trying to “strangle Russia” with the “hands of Ukraine.”
