The authorities of Qatar, who acts as an intermediary in negotiations between Israel and Hamas, confirmed the information about the transaction. The fighting will stop for four days, during which Hamas will release 50 Israeli hostages, and Israel will be several Palestinian prisoners.

Hamas representatives have not yet commented on this statement by Netanyahu. The suspension of hostilities is unlikely to occur earlier than Thursday, because, according to Israeli representatives, the Israeli judicial authorities must assess the legality of the agreement.

According to the New York Times, citing its sources in the Israeli leadership, in exchange for the liberation of 50 hostages, Israel also agreed to free 150 Palestinians from Israeli prisons.
