In the Pskov region, a court sentenced a man accused of trying to join the Ukrainian Kraken battalion to 5.5 years in prison.

The Pskov regional court sentenced five and a half years in a maximum security colony to a young man accused of trying to join the Ukrainian Kraken battalion. This was reported by PAI with reference to the local Border Service of the FSB.

The defendant was found guilty of preparing for treason (part 1 of article 30, article 275 of the Criminal Code). According to investigators, he wanted to leave Russia, get to Ukraine through third countries and join the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The arrest of the young man was reported on August 7. Judging by the information on the website of the Pskov Regional Court, his case was submitted to the court on September 1, and on October 27 he was sentenced.
