Three teenagers were detained in the Moscow region and are suspected of setting fire to an electric train in October 2023. This was reported by Baza , Mash and RBC , citing sources close to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
According to RBC, young people born in 2005, 2006 and 2007 were detained in Domodedovo. They, according to the publication, admitted guilt.
The arson occurred on the night of October 21 at the Domodedovo depot. The fire area was 60 square meters. The driver's cabin and part of the vestibule managed to burn out. Baza writes that a month later the suspects set fire to the alarm and interlock system cabinet on the Domodedovo-Belye Stolby section.
The Mash telegram channel claims that the teenagers admitted that they set fire to the train, allegedly on instructions from the Security Service of Ukraine, and received 100 thousand rubles in cryptocurrency for this. The channel writes that the teenagers admitted to committing “more than a dozen similar arson and attempted sabotage.”
Investigators opened a criminal case under the article on committing actions that threaten the safe operation of vehicles (Part 1 of Article 267 of the Criminal Code). The maximum penalty for this is up to two years in prison.
