The Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs has put Meta press secretary Andy Stone on the wanted list

The Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs has put the press secretary of the Meta company Andy Stone on the federal wanted list, Mediazona reports with reference to the Ministry of Internal Affairs database.

The publication notes that the wanted card appeared in the database back in February 2023, but attention was paid to it only now. At the same time, in November, according to Mediazona, one of the Russian courts decided to arrest Stone in absentia under the article on promoting terrorism (Part 2 of Article 205.1 of the Criminal Code).

• In March 2022, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation opened a criminal case against Meta employees, including Stone, under articles of calls for extremist activities and assistance in terrorist activities. The reason for this was the company’s decision not to block calls for violence against the Russian military on its social networks. That same month, Russian authorities blocked the company's Facebook and Instagram, and Meta itself was designated an "extremist" organization.
