Hamas has released another group of hostages. Among them is a citizen of the Russian Federation

The Hamas movement has handed over to the Red Cross 14 Israelis and three foreigners taken hostage by militants during the attack on Israel on October 7, the press service of the Israel Defense Forces reports.

According to the IDF, 13 people are already in Israeli territory. One of the released hostages needed medical attention, so he was taken separately from the others by helicopter to the hospital. Four more people, according to the press service, are heading to the Rafah checkpoint on the border of the Gaza Strip with Egypt.

According to the Israeli newspaper Yediot Ahronoth, among the hostages released by Hamas on November 26, there were nine children, as well as three Thai citizens. In addition, the militants released a Russian citizen. The Russian Foreign Ministry emphasized that the Russian was released outside the exchange list. “We are talking about direct agreements between Russian representatives and Hamas,” said department official Maria Zakharova.

At the same time, Hamas said that they released the Russian “in response to the efforts of Russian President Vladimir Putin and in recognition of the Russian position in supporting the Palestinian cause.”

For its part, Israel will release 39 Palestinian prisoners, according to the Jerusalem Post.
