The Ministry of the Interior has developed a bill on the introduction of a control regime for people living in Russia without permits, TASS reports .

According to the text of the bill received by TASS, the control regime will be established for foreign stay: OK remaining in the country after the expiration of the validity of documents permitting accommodation, but not subject to forced expulsion. Among them are those who have a patent for labor activity or residence permit, as well as those who were deprived of Russian citizenship.

Such people will not be able to register as a legal entity or individual entrepreneurs, buy, sell and drive a car, open bank accounts, transfer money and marry. In addition, they will be obliged to notify the Ministry of Internal Affairs of their whereabouts, the change of place of stay, on the date, place and route of the planned independent departure from Russia. The comments to the earlier version of the bill stated that the migrant: OK may be obliged to appear at the Ministry of Internal Affairs at the first request or send the police their photo with geolocation.

This is not the first time that the Russian authorities announce a similar law. So, in February 2023, Nikolai Patrushev, secretary of the Security Council, spoke about the impending introduction of the regime of controlled stay. And in December 2021, Valentina Kazakova, head of the Main Department of Internal Affairs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, told about the development of the regime.
