The Khamovnichesky District Court of Moscow sentenced Anatoly Spirin, an administrator of political telegram channels from Ulyanovsk, to 2.5 years in a general regime colony. This was reported by the press service of the capital's courts.
Spirin was arrested in September 2022 in the case of extorting money for a “negative block” from Rostec top manager Vasily Brovko, Tina Kandelaki’s husband (Part 2 of Article 163 of the Criminal Code). If initially in the case materials it was about 150 thousand rubles, then in the final accusation 400 thousand were already mentioned.
Spirin’s lawyer Pavel Gerasimov said that Brovko’s representatives themselves wrote to Spirin and offered money for correcting a post on his channel, to which his client sent them his “text correction price list.”
According to investigators, Spirin ran two telegram channels - “Something like this” about the federal agenda and “Politburo 3.0” about the Ulyanovsk region. If in the case of the first channel, which had more than 130 thousand subscribers, the authorship was indicated in the channel description, then the second was anonymous. His number of subscribers exceeded 5 thousand people. After Spirin's arrest, both channels stopped updating.
The Telegram channel Politburo 3.0, in particular, criticized the governor of the Ulyanovsk region Sergei Morozov, and after his resignation began to support the new head of the region.
