McDonald's has revised the process of making its famous Big Mac in the United States, reports The Wall Street Journal . Fewer cutlets will now be cooked at a time so that they cook more evenly, and there will be more sauce. The salad and pickles will be fresher, and the cheese will be more melty. The buns will be served with randomly scattered sesame seeds for a homemade feel.
The company decided to change the way it prepares burgers due to increased competition in the market, especially from fast food chains such as Five Guys. Chris Young, senior director of global menu strategy at McDonald's, said: “We can do it quickly and safely, but it won't necessarily taste good. So we want to introduce quality.”
The changes will affect most of the burgers on the chain's main menu. The new technology is going to be implemented in 13,460 McDonald's restaurants in the United States.
According to an internal report, McDonald's plans to put the slogan "Our Best Burgers Ever" on its billboards, and the campaign will star Hamburglar, the burger thief.
