Israel resumed hostilities in the gas sector

BBC reports that according to doctors and eyewitnesses, the most intense bombing occur in the cities of Han-Junis and Rafach in the south of the sector. Above the refugee camp in Khan Junis, Israeli planes scattered leaflets, in which it is recommended to go south for civilians in order to security purposes.

The leaflets say that the city has become a “dangerous zone of military operations” and is proposed to look for refuge in the neighboring Rafaha on the border with Egypt.

In an interview with the BBC, the representative of the IDF (Israeli Defense Army) said that the military struck the fortified points of Hamas, and he said that these goals are located, he could not give an answer for “operational considerations”, but the IDF “acts in strict accordance with the rules of armed conflicts”.

“The deal came to a standstill when Hamas refused to provide a list of ten children and women whose release was scheduled for Friday,” explains Israeli military expert David Sharp. - Since Israel refused to change the rules of exchanges in the process of their implementation, the fighting was resumed. However, I must say that the door for contacts is not slammed completely. Indeed, until now, the ground phase of the operation has not begun again and, as far as possible, negotiations have not yet been completely disrupted. At the moment, the IDF only inflicts air and artillery blows.

“It could be assumed that the truce would last until Friday,” the new-European veteran of the special services and police of Israel Sergey Migdal tells the New-Europe. - The government set the “narrow military office” that the ceasefire cannot last longer than 10 days. The duration of military operations depends on the stability of the combat structures of Hamas. After the complete overcoming of the organized resistance and occupation of the entire sector in the enclave, thorough stripping, filtering the militants from the civilian population, the search and destruction of tunnels, bunkers and other infrastructure of terrorists will begin. This process can take several months. The entire adult masculine population of the sector, according to our interlocutor, will be missed through filtration camps in order to identify the participants in the attack on Israel.

Rotation and repair

“During the truce, the IDF managed to conduct a rotation of the combat units and gave it to a rest to his military,” continues Sergey Migdal. - The vast majority of 160 tanks and armored vehicles hit during battles were repaired. As a rule, this technique received relatively small damage and saved the crews and located inside the landing. From the beginning of the ground operation, about 60 IDF soldiers died. More accurate data on losses are published in the media with a delay of 1-2 days. Sergei Migdal says that the Arab population is displeased with the lists of criminals-state-owned people who are released in exchange for hostages. Of the 50 recently released Palestinian women and adolescents, 46 were arrested after October 7 for posts on social networks and attempts to throw stones and Molotov cocktails into the police and soldiers of the IDF. These fellow tribesmen, according to many Palestinians, are not a particularly valuable resource. After all, initially terrorists hoped to achieve the liberation of ruthless killers and seasoned militants who have been behind bars since the time of the Second Intifada (2000-2005), including Hamas’s military wing leaders convicted of organizing bloody terrorist attacks. Sergei Migdal is sure that the terrorists agreed to exchange under very serious Qatar pressure.

Sergei Migdal claims that Israel is ready to return to negotiations about the fate of the hostages. But for this, the agreements reached must be observed. After the release of all civilian women and children, it could be about the exchange of girls-military personnel. However, so far it is far from such an agreement.

“The terrorists, according to my data, have women and children hostage,” says David Sharp. - At least, their number should be enough for one exchange. The question is whether Hamas can provide them for exchange. Do not forget that the terrorists promised to allow representatives of the Red Cross to host the hostages. This opportunity was guaranteed by representatives of Qatar and Egypt participating in negotiations. However, unfortunately, this was not done.

David Sharp is convinced that terrorists can provide other categories of people remaining in their captivity for exchanges. For example, old people and women-military personnel, as well as men whose life is in danger. But this will become the subject of a new deal.

At the same time, the situation of people remaining hostage, according to Sergey Midal, worsened after several successful exchanges. After all, Hamas, apparently, with the help of negotiations, is trying to drag out a truce and forever stop the continuation of hostilities. But since such a prospect is not visible today, the liberation of people for terrorists is losing meaning.

“The ground operation will be stopped by the presence of hostage terrorists, nor a live shield from the civilian population,” Sergei Migdal is convinced. - Acting according to the rules of the war, the IDF, one way or another, will fight before the victory and the complete destruction of the entire Hamas structure. As far as is known, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken suggested that the Israeli army would not use the tactics of aviation and artillery blows in the south of the Gaza sector. What Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu answered with a decisive statement that Israel would use all the tools necessary for victory. The only way to prevent bloodshed is the immediate surrender of the entire top of the terrorists and the liberation of all the hostages remaining in captivity.
