Journalist Ekaterina Duntsova, who announced her intention to run for the post of President of the Russian Federation, had her bank transfers blocked

VTB Bank blocked money transfers to journalist Ekaterina Duntsova, who had previously announced that she intended to run for the presidency of Russia.

In her Telegram channel, Duntsova wrote that the bank blocked her transfers after she appealed to her supporters asking for financial support.

“Friends, yesterday I asked you for support, but the bank stopped receiving transfers literally in the first 3 minutes,” the journalist wrote.

The funds collected were planned to be spent on holding several meetings with voters, organizing a headquarters in Moscow, as well as printing leaflets and posters.

• Ekaterina Duntsova announced her intention to run for president on November 16. Duntsova explained her decision by saying that “for the last ten years the country has been moving in the wrong direction: the course has been taken not for development, but for self-destruction.” Her website says that she advocates a cessation of hostilities, democratic reforms, and the release of political prisoners.
• On November 20, the journalist was summoned to the prosecutor's office to discuss her presidential nomination. According to Duntsova, the department, among other things, was interested in her attitude to the fighting in Ukraine.
