In Lugansk, a deputy of the regional parliament of the annexed LPR Oleg Popov was killed in a car explosion, reports the press service of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.

According to the department, the car explosion occurred on the afternoon of December 6 as a result of the detonation of an unidentified device. Based on the incident, the Investigative Committee opened a criminal case under articles of terrorism, illegal production of explosives and illegal acquisition, storage and transfer of explosives or explosive devices.

Earlier, announced Vladimir Rogov, a representative of the administration of the annexed Zaporozhye region, the death of Popov. According to him, the explosion occurred in the city center near the Avangard stadium.

At the same time, another member of the LPR parliament, Yuri Yurov, recalled that this was the second attempt on Popov’s life. The first was completed in the fall of 2022. Then the Russian media also wrote about Popov’s death, but later he himself said that his death was staged by Russian security forces for the purpose of “spying with the enemy.”

In turn, Ukrayinska Pravda, citing its source in law enforcement agencies, writes that the SBU was involved in Popov’s death.

• On December 6, in the Odintsovo district of the Moscow region, former Verkhovna Rada deputy Ilya Kiva, who was sentenced in Ukraine to 14 years in prison on charges of treason, was found dead. Ukrainian media claim that Kiva was killed as a result of a special operation by the SBU.
