A resident of Novosibirsk took a local senator's assistant hostage, demanding medical assistance. This was reported by the Baza telegram channel. Reception staff confirmed this information to TASS.

According to Baza, this happened on December 7. According to the telegram channel, 43-year-old Sergei E. burst into the reception room of Senator Vladimir Gorodetsky and reached the workplace of his assistant Marina Ananich. Threatening the woman with an awl, he took her into Gorodetsky’s office.

Baza writes that no one noticed what happened until Sergei himself shouted that he had taken a man hostage. He barricaded himself in his office and threatened to detonate a bomb if anyone came inside and tried to stop him. The police who arrived at the scene talked with Sergei for 40 minutes, after which he released Ananich.

The man was detained. He told police that he had a mental illness and was trying to get medical help. According to Baza, Marina Ananich recognized Sergei, since he had already come to Gorodetsky’s reception a year ago and complained that his hands and face were numb, but the doctors could not diagnose him.

According to TASS, a criminal case was opened against the man for hostage-taking (Article 206 of the Criminal Code). “Sibir.Realii” writes that the detainee’s name is Sergei Ermoshin. The publication spoke with Ananich, whom he took hostage.

“...I began to talk in a calm tone, asking questions, and he answered. He was nervous, but this allowed him to somehow hold on more or less calmly. I said: “Please, if this is very important to you, let Vladimir Fedorovich [Gorodetsky] return from Moscow, and you will get an appointment with him.” He was probably waiting more for the press to demonstrate the situation he found himself in. In fact, he fully received services at the clinic and was familiar with his treatment plan,” Ananich said.
